Introducing iGO in Slovakia

On November 2005, 8, CONAN sro, the Slovak distributor of iGO, presented the SD memory card version of the iGO GPS navigation software. Journalists from TA3 News TV, PC REVUE and other leading magazines were present at a product presentation at an elegant hotel in Bratislava.

Peter Palárec, Managing Director of CONAN sro, said that iGO can be a sure success in Slovakia as well, as it is one of the most widely used software for PDAs. IGO is user-friendly not only because it is easy to use, but also because it has a Slovak menu and navigation sound.

IGO Slovakia 2005 The program, marketed as SD ™, contains one of the most accurate and detailed digital maps of 200 Slovak cities currently available. The POI database is also plentiful, currently offering 20 “points of interest”. The software is currently only available in Slovakia and costs 000 Sk (4600 EUR). More patient Hungarian drivers will be able to get it at an even better price, as the Slovak map will be part of the iGO Eastern Europe map package that will be released in the spring.

The other main character of the event was the Mitac MIO 169 handheld computer developed specifically for navigation, which was presented by the Slovak distributor LCP Systems.

“The MIO 169 and iGO together are a perfect pair, so we decided not to sell the device separately in Slovakia. As our goal is to make advanced satellite navigation widely available, we have adapted the price for this. The device and software in one package is only 14 Sk (900 EUR). ” - said Martin Struhár, Managing Director of LCP Systems oz.
