Of course, do not count on ultra-quality graphics and forget about high resolution. He will go? If so, click it!

amd raven ridge nyito

Next morning, AMD's brand-new APU series Raven Ridge will launch. The new series continues with the previous traditions, so it has got an integrated graphics chip with quite nice parameters. The situation, however, is so special that the company has an amazingly good processor in the Zen architecture, which we could not tell the predecessors. On the other side there is a strong wind; the development of video cards has slowed noticeably over the past period, so the Raven Ridge Vega IGP could be closer to desktop solutions than before, while still advancing in technology, such as the Polaris generation. I guess you've guessed it's going to be the soul of our super-cheap compilation.

AMD2018 2It is a certain ray of hope.

The dark side of the coin is virtually just the memory. We have already found that stronger IGPs are sensitive to available bandwidth - this is not the case anyway. The cost of the platform will therefore increase somewhat, so that the memory clocks of the memory must be raised to the highest possible level. Fortunately, AMD has set a very aggressive pricing for its newcomers, so it may offset this disadvantage. One more thing to talk about. Although the press has virtually united the stronger model, we still think that the other competitor is much more remarkable; better price / value and still fair performance.

The Ryzen 3 2200G Zen seeds tick at a slower pace than the larger model or ignore Hyper-Threading, the speed of the older Core i5 CPUs - somewhere around the Ivy Bridge generation. This is still a fairly decent production, if not light speed, and remember that we are talking about an 99 dollar product! From here, there is no cause for particular concern, let us now look to the other side. Of course, at this moment we can not say exactly what the Vega GPU is capable of, but some leaked measurements (3D Mark 11 GPUs) provide a point.

Ryzen 5 2400G

NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030

Ryzen 3 2200G

AMD A10-7890K

Fortunately, AMD has already shed some info crunches that could be crawled on the image below. The first name is strongly recommended!

AMD2018 13

Based on the figures, the Ryzen 3 2200G does not drastically fall behind GeForce GT 1030, but the big screen does not mean any other dimension - AMD has to somehow split the two products apart. Here comes an opportunity that the company itself has unveiled, and that most of the users will know well: overclocking.

AMD2018 15

AMD, of course, is the most expensive Ryzenen, but the two APUs are built on the same chip, so the modest type will not fail in this area either. As you can see, Vega IGP is very much in favor of overcrowding, it is even possible that Ryzen 5 2400G can be nailed. We also trust that the GPU running the 704 shade can clearly suppress the still-scarce memory bandwidth as the weaker companion.

After the above, we'll figure out a large amount of Raven Ridge based configuration. Of course, the price of Ryzen is in the prediction category, but it has to be in the order of magnitude.

A320 / B350 16.000 - 22.000 Ft

Ryzen 3 2200G 30.000 - 40.000 Ft

Hard drive:

1 TB 12.000 - 13.000 Ft

2 × 4 GB DDR4 26.000 - 32.000 Ft
Housing and PSU: Taste and 300-400 watts 15.000 - 20.000 Ft

99.000 - 127.000 Ft

According to our opinion, this is a pretty friendly amount for a computer that is far from office-friendly. We do not say that you will be able to run new titles in high quality with this compilation, but we will bet that you (at worst) set low levels of playable values - at least in the vast majority of cases. Think about what this is when a mid-range GeForce GTX 1060 is pretty much the same as the total amount here. A used configuration from the same amount will surely provide a more steep performance, but this is obviously not a track for everyone.

HotHardware has already started testing.

Next week, we will look at the two newcomers more closely.
