Production of the Nintendo Game Boy is stopped

Nintendo's president, Satoru Iwata, made statements in his statement about stopping production of the Game Boy.

The Japanese manufacturer is trying to focus all its energy and capital on the newly arriving Wii and the Nintendo DS handheld console, which has been in production since 2004.

The first Game Boy was released in 1989 and is still very popular today. Nevertheless, at this year’s E3, Nintendo has no longer introduced any new features.

By comparison, 2001 million units of the Game Boy Advance SP and Micro, which have been in production since 74, have been sold worldwide, while 2 million units of the Nintendo DS, introduced 16 years ago, have been sold.

The fierce battle between console manufacturers is forcing participants to produce as cost-effectively as possible, and old classic gaming machines are also falling victim to this.
