Elephone S40 will work up to -9 degrees!

The new top phone from the Chinese manufacturer promises to be especially percussive.

A small piece of news had already arrived yesterday, but I haven’t gotten my head on it yet. Data leaks have continued today, and if these rumors prove true, then after the Elephone S8, one of today’s most powerful low-cost Chinese phones, the manufacturer is sure to take it to another level.

Rumors arrived in the fall of a phone called the Elephone S9 Plus. The data seemed promising, but we haven’t heard of the device since. It is possible that the rumor is now materializing in a new mobile, the Elephone S9. According to the latest news, we get an AMOLED display. Its resolution is not known, but knowing the trends, the minimum will be the FHD + resolution with an 18: 9 aspect ratio.

I don’t know what to expect at Elephone when a new ice age is coming or global warming is accelerating, but they say the S9 will be able to operate in a wider range of temperatures than usual, so it can be as low as -40 or + 80 ° C, phone will not turn off. It is a great pleasure for us, here in the Carpathian Basin, we will be able to call for help if woolly mammoths attack us. (by the time the ice age comes they will be cloned anyway, so don't tease, I know they're dead at the moment…)

Let's get back on the phone! The Elephone also voted for the Samsung design in the case of the S8, they didn't want to make a thousandth MIX 2 phone. The choice was good, and although the display was not, the glass was nicely bent at the edges of the display. On the S9, it is written that we get an infinity look, which may even suggest that the display on the new phone will already be inclined. I would say it would be a surprising development, but it is not. What’s really weird is that it hasn’t appeared like this in the case of cheap Chinese clones so far.

The remaining crumb of information is also interesting. Let's go in order of importance! It is said to be illuminated on the back of the logo. I would say I would turn it off right away if I had the opportunity to do so, but someone is sure to get into this stealing. The second is that it will have a USB Type-C connector and a Quick Charge, meaning we get a quick charge. Because of the Type-C, I wouldn’t be surprised if the headphone jack missed the device. The third, and perhaps the most important, seeming information to me is that the central unit of the phone will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660. It’s a chip with eight Kryo 260 core processors and an Adreno 512 graphics accelerator, which will be powerful, but perhaps more importantly, it has great multimedia capabilities. It handles up to 24 megapixels from the camera, it can record 30K video at 4 FPS, but we can use up to 120 FPS, but only at 1080p. I really miss one of the cheap Chinese phones that can take normal quality slow motion shots, so now we might get it.

All in all, this sounds pretty good, so we’re curious to see if one of today’s best cheap phones is really going to be such a percussive successor. If so, I’m sure I’ll keep getting in, my Elephone hasn’t been there anyway.
