ASUS Eee PC 1015PEM - coming to us soon!

I was just looking at the emails when I became aware of a letter from a reader. In addition to the explanatory text, I found the content below, which we found suitable for communication.

Asus ’new Eee machine (Asus Eee PC 1015PEM) is currently perhaps the most advanced netbook on the market. The manufacturer has recently launched this externally and internally appealing netbook, which is built entirely of elements that are still very new and therefore not yet so widespread. By this I mean the USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0 support lurking under the roof, as well as Intel’s first 2-core Atom processor, which has also found a place in this beauty.

ASUS Eee PC 1015PEM - coming to us soon!

USB 3.0: currently only a few notebooks / netbooks are available that are equipped with technology up to 2.0x faster than USB 10, but they cost around $ 1000. The Asus 1015PEM, on the other hand, offers a very good alternative at a significantly lower price.

Bluetooth 3.0: the new Bluetooth is a new generation of wireless data transmission for mobile devices, with transmission speeds much higher than its predecessor (a demonstration of this can also be viewed here), so for those who use Bluetooth technology often, this can be a very useful innovation.

Intel dual-core Atom processor: As I mentioned, this is Intel’s first processor for 2-core netbooks. One would think that the 2 cores would normally have an effect on the battery, but Asus says our miracle beetle can last up to 13 hours on a single charge, which is not a negligible consideration when buying. In light of the above, I already think no one will be surprised that the netbook has a DDR3 RAM module and the display is LED backlit.

The exact specifications are:

  • Display: 10,1 ″, 1024 × 600 resolution, LED backlight
  • Processor: Intel Atom 1.5Ghz N550 dual core
  • Video card: Intel GMA 3150
  • Memory: 1GB DDR3 (expandable up to 2GB) HDD: 160 / 250 / 320 GB
  • Other: Bluetooth 3.0, USB 3.0 (2 pcs), 802.11b / g / n Wifi, 0.3MP camera, card reader, VGA, LAN, Jack

In Hungary, the expected price will be around 120 thousand HUF and will be available in black, blue, white and burgundy.

Concluding Thought: Due to the fierce competition between manufacturers, netbooks are evolving at an ever-increasing pace and today these machines are no longer just for accessing online content. Although they are still not suitable for running more serious games, they are starting to approach the level of notebooks manufactured 2-3 years ago. They also need to make progress, as the advancement of tablets has already begun, which could certainly be a serious competition for netbooks in the not-so-distant future.
