Social connectivity is convenient with LG’s first Android phone

LG Electronics has announced its first Android smartphone, the LG GW620 optimized for social networking services.

With the phone, the manufacturer is offering a new type of mobile experience to users who are increasingly demanding that their favorite social services (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, iwiw) be always available, wherever they are.

With the LG GW620’s social networking app, users can easily follow what’s happening with their friends, post comments, and update their own social profile. The program manages all of a user's social presence on a single platform, so it is possible to manage multiple accounts at once while updating incoming data in real time. The user can also see up-to-date information from friends while searching the phone’s contacts, and can even visit their website directly.

Thanks to the LG GW620's unique, automatic face recognition (function for assigning faces to operations), friends and family are always just a touch away. All you have to do is mark a friend's face on a photo and then tap it, and you can easily perform a series of actions, such as uploading a photo to a favorite website, sending an SMS or MMS, or making a phone call.

Convenient connection

As a smartphone optimized for social networking, the LG GW620 is as comfortable to use as a personal computer. Combined with one of the fastest web browsers today, the five-line, handy, side-sliding QWERTY keyboard enables lightning-fast internet browsing and seamless online video while keeping all of your popular Google applications close at hand.

Instant messaging, SMS concatenation, and real-time push email make it easier than ever to stay in touch with others. For example, you can start a chat with two clicks.

Create shareable content

Featuring the latest entertainment technologies, the LG GW620 delivers an enjoyable, real-time user experience for both content creation and sharing. A sharp 5-megapixel autofocus camera and high-definition video recorder can be edited with the phone's fun editing tools and then shared with a single touch.

Entertainment features also include a HVGA 3-inch LCD screen that realistically displays video, support for DivX and Xvid formats, and 3,5mm audio output.

The LG GW620 could benefit well from the growing interest in mobile devices that support social use. According to New York-based international research firm Frost & Sullivan, "The growing traffic on smartphones and the need for a continuous presence on social networking sites create ideal market conditions for socially-optimized smartphones."

LG’s first Android phone, the LG GW620, was developed with community in mind from the first moment. Social networking sites are now ubiquitous and for many have become an important means of keeping in touch with friends, family and co-workers. The South Korean manufacturer’s smartphones are designed with users ’lifestyles in mind. The perfect integration of social services makes LG smartphone users available anywhere.

The LG GW620 will be available in mid-November, first in Europe and then worldwide. The device is expected in Hungary in 2010. From November 9, those interested can also follow the LG GW620 on Facebook (www.facebook.com/pages/LG-GW620) and Twitter (@ LG_GW620).
