CES - Huawei's Windows Phone 8 has arrived
Huawei unveiled its first Windows Phone 8 device, the Huawei Ascend W1, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The 10,15 mm thin device has a 4-inch diameter, 480 × 800 pixel resolution IPS LCD touch screen made with OGS technology.
The Huawei Ascend W1 features a dual-core 1,2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon ™ S4 MSM8230 processor and an Adreno 305 GPU. With a 1950 mAh battery, the Ascend W1 has nearly 470 hours of standby time, the longest in its category. The iconic design of the smartphone is inspired by tropical islands and will be available in a range of bold colors in blue, red, black and white. The Ascend W1 offers a smart and stylish alternative for users looking for cutting-edge technology at an affordable price.
The Huawei Ascend W1’s low-gloss IPS LCD display is fully laminated, making it perfectly visible in any lighting conditions. On the Windows Phone 8 home screen, Live Tile tiles can be customized with personal themes, allowing users to view real-time notifications in a completely unique way.
With Dynamic Screen Lock, you can select and display the photos and notifications that are most important to them, even when your phone is locked.
The Huawei Ascend W1 will be available for the first time in China and Russia from January 2013, and then in Western Europe, the Middle East, the United States and other regions.
