We are already used to having a lot of special phones made at Cubot. They come from large batteries and shatterproof devices, the quality of which has been getting better lately.

Cubot phones haven’t been bad in the past, but the newer series has already improved the capabilities of the cameras. Of course, the company isn’t brave in the top category, so we don’t get top cameras, but in other respects they stand out from the average. For example, they can incorporate batteries with a very high capacity into very thin phones.

The Cubot Quest and its little brother, the Lite, are interesting not because of the battery, but because they’ve been given real blood-strapped phone capabilities, while the device’s housing size is reminiscent of normal phones. We can hit, cut, toss or even just put them under, and not even tickle them. According to the company, these devices are now the thinnest shock-resistant phones in the world, and looking at the pictures, we can even deny them that.

Quest and Lite are very similar in many ways, so the external size and screen resolution (HD +) are the same. The battery has the same capacity (4000 mAh) and there is no difference in terms of sensors, so both devices have a proximity sensor, a light sensor, a gyroscope, a gravity sensor, a geomagnetic sensor and of course a fingerprint reader. Among the abilities, facial recognition was not left out, and of course the face-based unlocking that was not included.

A significant difference is found at three points. Interestingly, the more expensive phone has only a 12 + 2 megapixel back camera, while the cheaper one has a 13 + 2 megapixel solution. However, we suspect that the 12-megapixel Sony sensor on the more expensive machine will still accommodate the 13-megapixel camera. We don't even get any information about the latter, so for example, the manufacturer is not known, while for the former, the Sony sensor, the manufacturer highlights the aperture value of f / 1.8. This is really outstanding! The other important difference is the central chip, because while the Lite version got a quad-core processor, the Quest works with an eight-core CPU. The third difference is in the memory and storage, the Lite can manage 3/32 GB, while the smooth Quest got 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of built-in storage.

As we wrote above, the phones are brand new, sales are now starting, so in the introductory promotion we get a discount of roughly $ 30 on both devices. Starting today, May 6, the promotion lasts for a week, during which time the Cubot Quest Lite will cost $ 149,99 instead of $ 119,99, while the larger sibling will cost $ 179,99 instead of $ 149,99. The delivery is now promised to be scheduled for May 8-11, and given the previous Cubot promotion, it is expected that there will be no slippage here. Shipping (Priority Line) is as duty free and free as it used to be.
