If I simply wanted to write a press release about the class, I would start like this:
When modern technology meets elegant design, products like the Zeblaze Thor Ultra smartwatch are born. This device is not just another smartwatch on the market; is an independent communication device equipped with a real Android operating system, which opens a new dimension in the world of portable technologies.
However, this article is not a press release, at least I hope it will be somewhat more than that. Just like the Thor Ultra, it is much more than just a smart watch. But why more?
Well, these days we call anything that has the shape of a clock, be it round or square, a smartwatch. However, most of these products do not do more than an average fitness tracker, that is, an activity meter in Hungarian, or a smart bracelet in Hungarian.
Manufacturers have realized that devices with thin, small displays - bracelets - will only be desirable to a narrow segment, namely those who actually use the device for sports. Of course, because of this, we can't simply blame them for deceiving us, since the knowledge of trackers has exploded in recent years.
These devices know almost everything an older smartwatch could. Activity meters could not catch up with "traditional" smartwatches in one, but very important, way. You still need a smartphone to take advantage of all their features.
However, the Zeblaze Thor Ultra is a REAL smart watch that does not need a phone, it can perform all functions independently.
Why Thor Ultra can do this is easy to explain. This watch runs a full-fledged Android system, that is, the hardware of a phone specifically works in the watch's housing. I hope this article will show you that this is not an exaggerated statement at all.
Unpacking
Holding the box in hand, we can already feel that this is a more expensive product (I'm kidding, it's not expensive). Demanding cardboard, with demanding graphics, nicely formatted texts, and the right amount of information at the bottom of the box.
When you open the box, you can immediately see the smartwatch, and on the impact protection, it is written in fine, elegant, thin characters where the SIM card tray is and where the power button is. It doesn't make much sense, but from the point of view of the design, it's a good idea.
The package also includes a magnetic charging cable and a user manual. There is nothing else, but it could be! For example, they could provide a screen protector. It is true that the watch has Gorilla Glass, but knowing myself, I know that the display will be full of scratches in no time.
I note that after unpacking I thought there was a protective film on the bottle. It was, just not what I expected. It was a soft, peel-off film designed to protect the watch from the vicissitudes of transportation.

The Zeblaze Thor Ultra uses a 1,43-inch Ultra HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a brightness of up to a respectable 1000 nits. The size of the display creates an ideal balance between comfortable use and a sufficiently large display surface, but even though it is large, the structure is not too big due to the compactness of the watch.
The capacity of the built-in battery is also surprisingly large - 930 mAh -, the manufacturer says that this is enough to reach 65 hours of operating time under normal use. If true, it's a remarkable feat for such a feature-packed device.
However, the real strength of the Zeblaze Thor Ultra, based on the Android 8.1 operating system, lies in its multi-functionality. The full-fledged Android system knows everything that the phone can know. Thanks to the 4G SIM card slot, it can also receive and initiate phone calls independently, so it is not necessary to carry the phone with you all the time. In addition, the built-in GPS and Google Maps support allow it to function as a navigation device, while the 16GB internal memory provides enough space for music or even pictures, not to mention downloadable applications from the Android Play store.
The watch has Wifi, with which we can connect to local networks, and of course there is also Bluetooth, through which we can, for example, connect headphones and listen to our music.
Zeblaze Thor Ultra can also be used for sports, but this is not the primary task for which it was designed. Along with this, we get step counting, which also tries to calculate burned calories. We get heart rate measurement, blood oxygen level measurement, and the built-in GPS also allows the use of tracker programs.
As I wrote, Thor Ultra also allows you to install many applications directly from the Google Play Store. Thus, users can install different messaging applications such as Telegram or WhatsApp and even use social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, although – it should not be forgotten – the size of the 1,43-inch display may limit the use of these applications. comfortable to use.
The Zeblaze Thor Ultra not only attracts our attention because of its hardware and software capabilities, its design also deserves attention. The high-quality, thick plastic watch case with a very good touch surface and the glass-ceramic back, as well as the rotating crown and power button made of steel, give the device a very elegant appearance.
The strap is of course replaceable, although I don't know if I want or can replace the factory TPU strap due to its design. I will write about this later!
If you look at the paper form, the Zeblaze Thor Ultra is indeed a promising piece, but, as they say, the test of the pudding is the eating, the watch and the use. So, let's attach it to our wrists and try it out!

The applications menu can be accessed by pressing the larger button. As I wrote above, these are real applications and not simple functions, since this is an Android watch!

In the settings menu, we find the usual things, such as network and internet settings, where we can connect to a Wi-Fi network and a mobile network. You can create hotspot and tethering, VPN, and turn on airplane mode and Wi-Fi saver mode. In the Bluetooth menu, you can turn on Bluetooth and then connect an external device, such as a headset.
Display settings include brightness level, font size, sleep, screen size, vibration feedback, crown rotation touch, Screen On Wake, Wake Off Timer, Palm Press Screen, Screen Resolution and Screen Display Shape .
In the Sound menu, you can change the volume of the media, the alarm and the ringer, as well as all other related options, such as mute, do not disturb, phone ringtone, etc.
Basically, you can say that everything is where and how it is in a phone that ships with stock Android. You won't find any difference in this. It is very important that Android can also speak Hungarian, here and there I only came across texts without translation, but their number is very minimal, and with the help of the camera translation available on the phone, they are not a big problem.
Now the experience can come!
Experiences
First, I'll start with the exterior of the watch. I have dealt with Android watches in the past. There were no problems with these in terms of capabilities, but usability was greatly affected by the thickness of the watches. For example, I couldn't even wear them for a motorcycle ride, because I couldn't pull the zippers in at the wrists of my motorcycle leather jacket. In short, they were very thick.
To some extent, this is understandable, since fitting a phone into a watch can be a daunting task.
The Zeblaze Thor Ultra isn't thin either, but it's still thinner than similar watches I've owned so far. In addition, the edges have been rounded very skillfully, and the shape and connection of the strap to the body of the watch is also very clever. That's why I wrote above that I don't know if I want to replace the belt. Maybe it can't be any other kind of strap, because the shape of this one is quite unique.
In any case, I can safely say that the Thor Ultra is the most elegant Android watch I've owned so far, it looks great even on my thin wrist!
I think the choice of material turned out very well! Although the M frame is plastic, it still doesn't feel plastic. The back is made of ceramic, and it hurts, but at the same time, it brings back pleasant memories of the days when I could still afford Xiaomi MIX phones. Well, they were also made with a ceramic cover, they gave an incredibly strong premium feeling. Thor Ultra is no different.
The steel frame and the steel rotary knob also suggest quality, but what impresses everything is the display!
The fact is that the resolution and brightness of the AMOLED panel is something quite wonderful. Here, there are no more jagged edges on the graphics, the image almost explodes from the display. This is very good for the user experience, and of course it is also good because we can even watch videos and movies during this class if we feel like it.
Perhaps the only strange thing about the display is that even though it's AMOLED, there is no always-on display function, I don't know why this was left out, in any case, it's good for consumption that it's missing, I'd turn it on and it would eat up the battery.
It is very important and very good that it has USB! Okay, of course, since there is a magnetic charger with a USB connector, but no, it is not at all evident that data exchange is also possible through this. In the case of Thor, this is also possible, you can copy files from your computer to the watch via the USB cable or vice versa. So you can copy your favorite music, videos and pictures onto it. In addition, of course, there is also the usual data exchange and synchronization via Google services, so we are provided with all earthly goodies.
I really like that in the case of the Thor Ultra, they didn't miss the jump, that the big button can be turned and not just pressed. I have experienced this with many watches, even though it is very easy to navigate through the menus because you don't necessarily have to "scroll" through the watch's display, you can also move up and down the menus by turning the button.
However, there are also bad things, although not many, but due to the dynamics of the article, I don't want to leave them at the end, because they will remain in everyone, the better things will not.
These bad things mean two things.
One is that we can forget about the usual phone-watch pairing for fitness trackers, because you won't be able to pair Android with Android. I would like to note that this is mostly just a matter of getting used to it, since your watch basically knows everything that your phone knows, so there is not much need for pairing.
Since this is not basically a sports watch, you won't be checking how much you've run on your phone here either. Let's say you can do this in class, so no big deal.
The other problem is that although we can download a lot of programs, not all of them will be convenient to use. The reason for this is that the display is round, not square, so some of the buttons that can be used in the programs are not displayed.
The watch's own app store could provide some remedy for this, but it only contains a few programs, such as Messenger, Tinder, Google Assistant, ..., and Netflix. Well, my eyebrows raised a little here, I downloaded and installed it, but the app said that the device is not suitable for running it. This was perhaps the only moment during the test when I did not appreciate Zeblaze's watch too much.
Ok, what else?
Well, one example is the multimedia capabilities, which turned out to be surprisingly good. I am by no means saying that the sound coming out of the watch is sensational, but I am saying that some phones or tablets have a more annoying sound. So, interestingly, it is quite listenable, there could be a lot more from the bottom, but there is no way a rumbling deep sound will come from such a large structure.
Another interesting thing is that it is absolutely not a crazy idea to watch videos or even movies in class. Okay, you need good eyes or good glasses, but the quality of the image makes the watch suitable for this as well.
I also tried Netflix, SkyShowTime and Amazon Prime, these Amazon Prime not only started, but the movies can also be started. Moreover, I also installed Spotify, it can also be used, although the app is not completely suitable for use on a round face, but you can search for music or an album, an artist, I can find and start my playlists, so the essential things work. All you need for this is a SIM card and mobile internet, and you can even listen to Spotify while running, and you don't even need a phone!
Sum it!
Zeblaze Thor Ultra has a lot of good capabilities, but there are also some difficulties due to the handling of apps. It is definitely worth pointing out that those who get away with a simple fitness tracker may not need the full services of the Thor Ultra.
This watch, as I have already written several times, is really only a watch in its form, the hardware itself is identical to the hardware of a phone. In other words, you can use it to surf the net, use it to navigate, use it to make phone calls, and use it to communicate on all kinds of chat apps EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR PHONE!
This capitalized part is the essence, the essence of the article, the most important sentence!
Zeblaze Thor Ultra can be endowed with many capabilities that a normal smart watch or smart bracelet cannot. They have a closed system, there are no apps you can install, you have to use what comes with the watch. This is enough for many people, but if you are not one of those people, then you need the Thor Ultra because it gives you a lot more freedom!
At the beginning of the article, I indicated that the watch is not expensive. Of course, this is a matter of comparison, because you can't get it for 10 like an activity meter, but it doesn't have the same price as a phone either. The wonderful AMOLED display, the ceramic back panel, the steel frame, and the usable multimedia capabilities should be more expensive than what they are asking for, I would at least expect a 30-40 percent higher price.
