Mobile phone charger with hydrogen

The joint development of NTT DoCoMo and Aquafairy presented recently is a hydrogen-based filling unit.

The polymer-electrolyte fuel cell extracts hydrogen from water, which performs almost twice as efficiently as the methanol-based cell introduced a year ago, and is only a quarter of its size. It takes about the same amount of time to recharge your phone battery as with traditional mains chargers.

Weighing in at 45 grams, the device has size dimensions of 24 × 24 × 70 mm, an output of 2 watts, an electrical capacity of 45 Wh, and a single charge of an 800 mAh Li-Ion battery.
