Nokia free navigation: close to 1,5 million

Nokia proudly announced today that the latest Ovi Maps has surpassed 1,4 million downloads.

The software’s free pedestrian and car navigation already boasted 1 million downloaders in the first week after its release. According to the Finnish company, most were downloaded from China, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain. In addition to the 5800 Xpress Music, the most popular devices were the N97 mini, N97, 5230 and E72.

"On average, downloads start every second 24 hours a day," said Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia's senior vice president. “When we announced our free‘ walk & drive ’navigation app, we knew it would change everything. But even so, the growing number of users using Nokia Navigation is beyond our imagination. ”

Nokia Ovi Maps provides car and pedestrian navigation in 74 countries and 46 languages, as well as traffic information in 10 other countries. You can download the application from the company's official website if you have a Nokia mobile phone with GPS.
