Samsung has also officially announced that it will be the first in the world to start mass production of 32GB DDR3 memory modules. For this, they use chips made with a 30 nm process that have a capacity of 4 Gbit, but more importantly, they only need a voltage of 1.866 volts to achieve an effective clock signal of 1,35 MHz. In comparison, chips manufactured at 40 nm required 1,5 volts at 1.333 MHz. This means that new chips require 18% less energy while accelerating significantly. The new modules are of the RDIMM type, ie they are made primarily for servers. However, the manufacturer does not stop here, as they are already planning to produce 20nm DDR3 chips, which are dated for the second half of the year.
