NVIDIA renames its AMD chipset

nForce 980a SLI continues its career as nForce 780a SLI.

The announcement sent to the partners makes NVIDIA's plan that the nForce 780a SLI chipset will continue its career on AM3 motherboards with a new name and unchanged content. Accordingly, the nForce 980a SLI equips the motherboard built around it with the same range of services as its "predecessor": 2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (triple SLI is also supported in the case of 1 x16 and 2 x8 configurations), 12 USB 2.0 ports, 6 SATA -II connector, gigabit Ethernet, DDR2/DDR3 support, etc.
